This is, simply, a list of common questions that many of our visitors
ask us. If you have a question that isn't here, just e-mail your
question to us.
If you are over 18 years old, you must have a valid form of identification
in order to climb.
Parents must come to the Dyno-Rock Climbing gym and sign a waiver form if you
are under the age of 18.
If they do not come to the gym with their child, the waiver form must be notarized.
All waiver forms must be sign by the participant's parent or a legal guardian. (Must show
legal proof or guardianship.)
I've never climbed before. Does Dyno-Rock have anything for
beginners?
Most definitely. We have approximately 14,000 square feet of climbing
surface, built for every level of ability.
Are there age requirements to climb at Dyno-Rock?
Yes and No, Dyno-Rock has climbing for all ages of climbers, but we
require that all belayers (the person who holds the rope to keep the
climber safe) be at least 14. Also, participants under the age of 18
must have a parent sign one of our waiver forms before climbing.
You can view and print a waiver here.
What if I don't own any climbing equipment?
Not a problem, we have everything you need available for rent,
including shoes, chalk bags, harnesses, and caribiners.
I heard it gets really hot inside Dyno-Rock, is that true?
Not any more, in august of 1998 we added air conditioning, now it
stays reasonable even on the hottest of days.
Will there be staff members on hand to belay if I come in by myself?
Not usually. We have added a large bouldering area for customers
who come in by themselves. Also, it usually is not too hard to find
other people in the gym to
climb with.
What types of payment do you accept at Dyno-Rock?
We accept cash, checks, Visa, and Mastercard.
If we come for the day can we leave to eat and come back?
Sure, Dyno-Rock's entrances are based on a day pass, just let the
staff know on your way out that you plan to come back that day.
Is there a place to eat inside if you bring picnic lunch?
Sure, we have several picnic table inside the gym, feel free to bring refreshments and snacks.
Can I use my own belay device, rather than the gym's Gri-Gris?
No, our insurance requires that you use our Gri-Gris to belay.
May I use my own rope for lead routes?
No, but we will be glad to provide you with one once you have been lead certified.
